In a perfect world
NOBODY IS HUNGRY OR WITHOUT
ROOF OVER THEIR HEAD...
Sadly, we all know this is not the case today. Disasters affect millions of people all over the world. Once these disasters hit the news headlines, the international community reaches out to help.
However - we tend to forget that the effect of these disasters lasts long after the cameras are turned off and our attention is directed to other headlines. Lack of food and housing, diseases that kill their young, no infrastructure etc. Just because we don't hear about the disasters anymore, doesn't mean that they are gone or solved.
The Raindrop Foundation is not afraid to stay even after the attention has faded. We focus our work on forgotten disasters - slowly rebuilding the life of victims that have nothing.

Christmas is coming close, and to all of you who want to give a gift that comes from the heart:
HELP US HELP THE VICTIMS OF FORGOTTEN DISASTERS.
No longer getting the medias' headline attention, they need us more than ever..... Even though you don't hear about it anymore, it doesn't mean that the disaster is "solved". Far from it - hardly anything has been done to help the victims.....
Give a Christmas gift this year that will not be put in a cupboard or exchanged during New Year's sales....
Your gift will help more flood victims get roof over their head through our housing projects, and support our efforts to get vaccination to as many people as possible. People are dying of different diseases as a result of the flood disaster in 2010 and 2011 - diseases that can easily be prevented. We are out there working relentlessly helping these people rebuild their lifes.
Help us to help them.

Below you can see 3D drawings of the houses that we are building in Pakistan. A big step up for hundreds of flood victims - a safe home that will be placed on elevated land areas.
Our project in Pakistan, which provides houses and community facilities for over 1000 people in two regions affected by the flood disasters, has now become a reality through a generous donation from Sitetalk. For those of you who are not familiar with SiteTalk, this is a globale social community. Read more on www.sitetalk.com. Thanks to their support, we are able to help people that have lost everything. This is a disaster that has become a forgotten disaster, almost as quickly as it happened. When it did not longer get the medias' attention, and when the war against terror flared up again, the victims of the flooding were left suffering. But the members of SiteTalk didn’t forget, and the result is soon to be seen just outside the devastated village of Sujawal in Sindh, Pakistan. This is one of the most affected regions after the floodings in 2010 and 2011.
LATEST UPDATE FROM THE FIELD!
The Raindrop Foundation field team in Pakistan is now getting ready to get their hands dirty before they can raise the first shelters... A land area of 200 x 100 meters needs to elevated to avoid problems with the coming floods. The shelters are securing flood victims roof over their head, and are stable housing solutions that are built to last.
SHELTER VILLAGE – SUJAWAL
This is a map of the area where the Sujawal shelter village is going to be located. The project involves some 70 shelters and a communtiy center. 70 family's have already been identified. Most of them are families of 8 people. We already see that next phase will be to raise a school here......
SHELTER VILLAGE – SWAT
The map shows the area in the Swat valley where we are building 20 shelters and a community center. Shelters that will provide housing for many people who lost everything in the last flood disaster.
SHELTER PROJECT IN PAKISTAN
The Raindrop Foundation's biggest project at the moment is building a whole community of shelters for flood victims in Pakistan. Where others follow the headlines, we work with the "forgotten disasters". The flood victims have nothing, and now they are not in the "news" anymore. They need our help more than ever!
Around 5 million people live in flood affected areas. After last year's flood, not much have been done - and large parts of the affected land is still under water. The field team reports that they see water ponds created by the flood - with fish in them!
The UN estimated that the flood distaster in Pakistan requires between 300 and 400 million dollars. What the international community has contributed, is only some 10 % of this.
These people have nothing, and it is urgent to get roofs over their head so that they will survive coming floods.
This disaster has long ago left the news headlines, but we will not pull out. The cameras are turned off - and the real work has started....
